The Baby Genius

"All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he/she grows up."
-Pablo Picasso

Roisin Murphy

I have a new musical obsession, and her name is Roisin Murphy. How cool is she??? Very talented obviously, but also highly stylish and she has great moves. Her album is a bit more dancey than this live performance, though it's equally great. Don't blame me if you find yourself watching this several times tonight.

Where the WIld Things Are

I saw a copy of the book, "Where the Wild Things Are," at Urban Outfitters the other day as well as some stuffed animals and ornaments. One of the best books I read as a kid with some killer artwork. It got me kinda jazzed, and then I remembered that I had some pictures of a wall mural on Melrose, so I figured I'd post them. Maurice Sendak has got to be one of the best children's book authors. I think I know what my niece is getting in her Christmas stocking.

Nightime at LACMA

I took these on the bike ride, and I think they are just beautiful. I really feel like there is so much like this in LA, things that we see and never really look at and marvel.

I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike....

I haven't posted in awhile, but I've been busy. Busy riding my bike around Los Angeles and having a great time no less. I've got to say, bicycle riding is highly underrated. Especially at night, when the air is cool and the sidewalks empty...it's just the thing to do this time of year.

No on 8, obviously.

I thought this summed it up pretty nicely.

On Election Day.

"Rosa sat so Martin could walk, Martin walked so Obama could run, Obama is running so our children can fly."-A Missouri Volunteer for Obama, as reported by NPR

I am so excited and a bundle of nerves waiting to hear the words President Obama. Is it really happening? Will we really wake up tomorrow with the promise of new progress and change? I'm keeping my fingers crossed and the champagne on ice, with the optimistic hope of tomorrow. It's a good day, as I watched people smile with pride to wear a little sticker bearing the simple words, " I Voted." I feel like the country has changed for the better with this election, and that we are slowly but surely getting our pride and patriotism back once again.
