Debbie does Hollywood

Debbie Harry is the coolest. I can't articulate it any better, and I don't think I really need to. I love seeing her mug in my city. Even if these are from before I was born...

Amy,Amy,Amy

If I was able to get to Camden, I'd be so thrilled to see this new exhibit all about AmyWinehouse. Put on by her brother Alex, the exhibit shows a different side of Amy. The clothes alone! Maybe someday it will cross the ocean and come to LA....sigh. More info HERE.

Morbid Fashion Inspiration

This whole month I've been on a hunt for some 1940s peasant style clothing. I couldn't for the life of me figure out where this came from. It's not really my style, but I have been wanting it so badly. Then I figured it out. The Death Hag in me wants it. I want the Carole Landis death outfit. Call me shallow, but how great is that outfit? If you read the death report, the shoes are gold even! I know I'm a jerk for it, but that image will forever be in my brain. I blame the copy of Hollywood Babylon in the family library. Ruined me for life.

Before she was Morticia.

Carolyn Jones was a different kind of starlet. With a jet black bob and piercing blue eyes, she stood alone in a sea of blondes. I would have to say my favorite thing about Carolyn is that she has a timeless look. While so many starlets were undeniably beautiful, their looks are very decade specific. Any of these photos of Carolyn would look just as current today. True disclosure-I've been trying to grow out my bob...and now these pictures of Carolyn have me wanting to not only keep it, but cut it a little more. Fun trivia, she was once married to Aaron Spelling when they were both struggling actors. She encouraged him to write, and the rest is history. At the end of her life, he helped her with finances, because he was that kind of guy.

PS.If you'd like to see Carolyn in action, may I suggest her and Elvis in King Creole.
