So, I have a little pretend game that I play. Here's how it works: I go on an auction website and look at the things I would buy if money was no object. My theme the other night was the clothes of my heroes. Here's what I picked:

Ukulele Fever

I am wanting a ukulele so bad right now! I just want to play some 1930s tunes on it, how cool would that be? Besides, these ladies must have been on to something...because they sure look like they are having a lot of fun! On my list of songs to learn with my future ukulele: Dream a Little Dream, Lullaby of Broadway, Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen and My Baby Just Cares For Me. If I learn enough, I could totally be a one woman show! Ha ha ha ...Slow down Davis! Get the Ukulele first.

south of the border, down mexico way...

I am so excited to be heading to Rosarito for a few days. I haven't been there in years and I literally cannot wait. I've been packing all night, since I am both overly neurotic and indecisive. When I leave town, even if just for a day I find myself packing a ton of clothing options and beauty products...it's nuts. However, I've been playing some pretty snazzy music to keep myself company (and a vodka soda helps as well..), so I figured I'd share my playlist with you:

I'm completely obsessed with this band. They are one of those bands I heard about a ton last year and never listened too until now.They are a San Diego band, so had I listened to the hype I probably would have had a better chance to see them since I was living there last year... I guess I just didn't want to believe the hype...stupid stupid me. They are great. So, don't be a dummy like me. Check 'em out.

Stuck in my head again and again....

I know I already mentioned Scarlett Johansson's album, but it is still in my head. And then I found this song, not on the album, which bums me out because I love it the best. The crazy Nico meets circus sound on it really makes me happy. I've been humming this song for two weeks now, so I am releasing it into my blog and hoping I can get some rest from the constant redundancy in my head. So now I give it to you...you are sooo welcome.

*On a side note, anyone else LOVE her outfit? I WANT THAT BLOUSE!!! And those great slacks...

Summertime Blues

I still haven't decided my summer anthem this year. You know, the summer song that will forever be a reminder of your all too brief summer fun. I've been listening to Adele's album, as well as Scarlett Johansson's debut. And while both are definitely on repeat, they have yet to cement themself in my brain as my summer song. Past summer anthem albums have included Hello Stranger, The Strokes, and The Epoxies...so maybe I just need something a little more rocking-something to dance to....any suggestions?
