I always come back...

Life is so fast, wow! I left you like a year ago almost. I missed you, it was time to come back! I feel so out of touch with all this new blogger technology! Anyone else out there feeling a little Jurassic? Maybe it was Instagram that killed my blog...you can find me HERE if you'd like. I try to balance the selfie to life ratio, but hey I'm a girl. Deal with it! So here's a few photos that have inspired me recently, tell me, what's inspiring you?Let's be friends again okay?

 XOXO,Kristal

Mean Reds

I'm moving into my own apartment alone, for the first time in my life. Crazy, scary and terribly exciting all at once. And when I am done, I hope it looks nice and strange like Holly Golightly's apartment in Breakfast at Tiffany's...

The Pink Palace-Style Inspiration

From first glance there was nothing subtle about Jayne Mansfield. Her home "The Pink Palace," however is a legend unto itself. A true Aries girl, Jayne stuck to a signature color palette of mostly pink and red.But on top of that she was as outrageous at decorating her home as a drag queen on acid. God, I love this woman. It really makes me sad that this place has been torn down. It was definitely one of a kind, to say the very least.

But Beautiful

Now I will never pass up a vintage thrift store pin again....the possibilities are endless! I want one of these in every room. And what a wonderful gift to give a friend or bride-to be! My birthday is April 19th in case you want to make me one....

Lux and Ivy

Another great design inspiration. Lux and Ivy were/are cooler than anyone else. I love the kitsch/horror aesthetic.

Cuckoo at Pee Wee's Playhouse

Another design desire that has yet to cease. I'm thinking that Pee Wee's house is part of the reason behind my love of atomic 1950s and 1960s decor. Especially the color palettes, pastels and saturated hues. If it's good enough for Pee Wee,it's great for me! Excuse me, I have to locate a talking chair and a french globe...

The Haunted Mansion aka Home Sweet Home

My original dream home as a kid. I'd still live here if given the chance. The Haunted Mansion recently celebrated it's 40Th anniversary. As a result there is a lot of cool memorabilia available right now. You better believe a few pieces will be coming to live with me.After all, it is a part of the design aesthetic that I am aiming for. I do love a good cobweb....
