The Real Supermodels

Everyone keeps saying that the models were always skinny, and as a kid I always remembered them that way. But seeing this picture is a shocking reminder that times have changed. These supermodels at the time look refreshingly healthy (as in genuine health-not fashion's word for fat), and not malnourished. I know that some people are built very small, and this isn't an attempt to upset anyone, but this photo shocked me. It was startling to see what Supermodels were. Especially now, when Vogue runs an article on the "Curvy Plus Size Model," who happened to be a size 4 and 5'10. I understand that times are changing, but in this case, I want them changed back.

Marilyn

At the end of the night, this is the best feeling.

Funny Thing

The worst part about having your picture taken is tracking it down. We went to two fashion parties last week and so many pictures were taken, yet I only managed to find this one on Facebook. On a side note, never be the person closest to the camera, it makes you look oddly large compared to the people on the other end.

This is Glamorous....

I am so jealous of this photograph. She looks like a dream. I'm not doing it justice, so I will just stop trying to describe it.

Lovely Lovely Lombard

I've been reading a few books on Carole Lombard lately, and I have to say-the woman had an insane sense of style. One of the best dressed actresses that I've ever seen-EVER. Ladies of Hollywood take note, this is how it's done.

Modern Day Debbie

I love this woman's tough yet classy look. She really reminds me of Debbie Harry, which is the highest compliment that I can give anyone. The best part of her look is that it is timeless, yet impossibly cool.

Thriftstoreglitter meets Mad Men

I've always wanted to live like Mad Men, now I can...well at least my cartoon alter ego can. I love it! If only I owned that dress in real life.

Tea For Two...

I am seriously debating on buying this fab tea dress on Etsy. It's $100, which isn't a bad price at all and it will fit me perfect according to the measurements, thoughts?

Built By Wendy Spring 2010

I have always love Built By Wendy, and this new collection feels so fresh and clean. I LOVE the top dress because it looks like something Sophia Loren would grocery shop in Italy in, and it has polka dots which I can never get enough of. The second dress is fun with the color blocking, and though I'd look awful in it, I think it would look great on a few ladies I happen to know. The last dress is pure class. It's all I've wanted for summer, a nice white shirt dress. It reminds me of Elizabeth Taylor in "Giant,"or maybe Katherine Hepburn in "African Queen." I have never actually saved up for a piece from this line, but maybe this season that will change..hopefully.
